I started three years of acupuncture training in 1994 in “5 Element Acupuncture” at the College of Traditional Acupuncture (CTA), Leamington Spa, before completing a two year post-graduate course in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading. I have been in practice since 1997. My background was in radiography.
After gaining my LicAc in acupuncture I was invited to be a lecturer on the Western Science programme at College of Traditional Acupuncture.
I love to learn new techniques and regularly attend post graduate training as part of our continuing professional development. In last few years I have studied cosmetic/facial acupuncture, acupuncture for skin diseases, the use of acupuncture in fertility and related pregnancy issues, acupuncture for pain relief, abdominal acupuncture, auricular (ear) acupuncture, Korean style acupuncture, Master Tung style acupuncture, and Gua Sha (A traditional Chinese medical treatment in which the skin is scraped to produce light bruising. Research has shown Gua Sha produces an anti-inflammatory and immune protective effect).
I have a particular interest in fertility, having undertaken specialist training in this area and am a founder member of ”Zita West National Network for Reproductive Health” as an affiliated acupuncturist. This involves regular training and ongoing support from the Zita West Clinic in London, the largest integrated (medical and complimentary) practice in the U.K. specialising in all aspects of male and female reproductive health.
